ok i had just put on my big t28 and that was before i really new anything about my car. i switched around the fan shrouds like i goddamn idiot. anyway i was drivin and the fan shroud melted and cut some wires leading to the alternator. then everything in my car went nuts like my windshield wipers went nuts and my headlights were flashing. then i fixed the alternator wires and bought a new fan shroud and everything seemed alright when my cars lights started dying and my dash lights were dying but i was like 3 seconds from my house and i got it there and parked it. come to find out my engine blew a headgasket and warped the head. upon closer inspection i noticed my spark plug wires had melted to my head and everything. now im in the process of putting a new engine in and was gonna take it to a specialty shop to see if they can find out the electrical problem. but i wanted to to ask you guys first. thanks for of the help you can give me.

How long did it run OK after you fixed the wires to the alternator? Are you sure the overheating didnt happen way back when the fan melted? Make sure you hooked up your alternator wires right. Obvisouly it wasnt hooked up right becaue if the lights were dimming you werent getting a charge. You could have gotten a couple wires backword.

im pretty sure i hooked the wires up correctly is there a chance my alternator can be bad after that it might have been overheating but it didnt seem like it. and it had only been driving for like 20 minutes after i fixed it. and none of my power windows or locks work either.

if the alternators wires anrn't right or they were disconnected and you drove your car you will burn out the alternator pretty quick. so the alt could be dead. As for wires melting i think your car definitily over heated melting everything. take your time and figure out those wires. and bring the alt. to get tested and charge your battery on a charger.

ok but i still dont understand why my power windows/doorlocks arent working or why my car even overheated. when i was jumping my car i noticed a faint clicking noise comin from my ecu even after i took the cables off but i dont see how that would have anything to do with my power windows/doorlocks not working?

BTW you should be able to just pull the head and have it decked at a machine shop and be OK rather than replacing the whole damn engine. Your car overheated because either you didnt hook up the fan right when you switched them around the first time and it never kicked on, or the relay went bad and the fan melted. This will be a thing to figure out once you get the car running again to see if the fan actually comes on or not.

ok BTW im buying another engine because i might as well close to 100k and scared of crankwalk so why not just replace the engine
