Electrical problem please help!

Im at the point where I'm about to light this car on fire. So I've done monumentous amounts of work on it trying to get this thing running like new. Anyways today I got in the car to start her up after a fiasco last night. A weird humming noise was comming from my radio or something inside the dash. NONE of my lights were comming on and when I tried to start her It'd turn over but wouldnt fire. I think possibly last night we burnt up the alternator some how. If that was the case would it keep the car from starting? I checked my underhood fuses all good. The lights won't work and the engine won't fire please help

Alternator only charges the battery.

I would start by looking at the battery and make sure the connections are good, measure it's voltage with a multimeter. Then try to jump the car.

Check for spark, check for fuel, check compression. If it wont start your probably missing one or more of those.

sounds like your mfi relay might have crapped out last night seein how its located right under the radio either that or its not grounding right because they will click when there is a prob sometimes

Yeah I've tried jumping it and the batterys fine I redid the terminals because it was loose at first. And what is the mfi relay? or what does it stand for?

MPI Relay. Multi point injection.

It could be your MFI Relay, saying that you hear a MMM sound from the radio location, the MFI Relay is located at the back of the radio, You can just remove the passenger side panel and you can reach it with out a problem to test it.

Would this relay also cause none of the lights to work inside or outside? We checked the power to the fuse box and its all good and now were trying to check the ground. Does anyone know where it grounds?
