I recently got timing happy and lifted the head. The gasket is not blown apart but it was squeezing coolant. I was using an oe gasket cause I had bad luck with an mls not sealing due to the head surface job. They used the stone method. I brought my head to a shop an hour away cause they can acually make a smooth finish. Anyway I asked them if it might need some type of sealant and they said "you could use gasgacinch" I'm like, "copper spray" and their like "F*** No". So my question is, has anyone used gasgacinch on a head gasket?

Dude gaskacinch is a sealer that comes in a bottle. I use that stuff on rubber/cork and paper gaskets but never on a head gasket. If you cant get a good RA surface finish designed for an mls head gaskets then run a composite head gasket.

buy an oem, felpro or better composite gasket.... and spray it with some thin coats of copper spray... those guys are dumber then shyt.... do not use gasgacinch.... they say not to use copper spray on it because it is so hard to remove when you pull shyt apart... and they are dumb... but it seals like a mofo...

I just killed a composite gasket. I did tell them that it was an mls gasket and thats why I had to drive an hour out of town to get the work done. I know the head surface will be fine i'm just paranoid I guess. Thanks for the input guys. :thumb:

Spray copper spray on the gasket surfaces and also in between the layers to help it seal if you are going with MLS.
