sbr ss fuel line kit for afpr. Problem

I just bought the sbr fuel line kit for installing the aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and im having problems getting the fittings on the ss fuel line. anyone that has done this can you give me any tips on getting this fitting onto the ss line? thanks.

This is what I used to help me with my oil cooler lines.

About halfway down the page you'll see a diagram along with some pictures below it. Use a twsiting motion and a flatblade screwdriver. The key thing is not to let the braided line begin to peel backwards or unravel. Do that and you're better off trimming that end of the line flush and smooth again and starting over.

sorry so late, if u begin to unravel the ss line, just wrap duck tape around a new portion and cut it through the tape. then pull of the tape to expose a new clean cut. i found that putting a little motor oil on the outside of the line helps to slide the fitings on without unraveling the ss line

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am having the same problem here. I went to the link posted and made an attempt. Is it just a real bear to get in there? I cut off any little strands that would hold me up and attempted to use a flat blade screw driver to get the line started down into the fitting but its still having trouble.

nevermind, the line was just beginning to fray too much so i taped it and recut it and it worked great. sloppy slowboy cut < harbor freight cut off wheel

i used
duck tape on the line, a 3" cut off tool , then unrapped the tape it makes it easier to slide it in with out the extra thickness of the tape ,use a wrench to hold it in place a rag so it wont slide down and twist and push at the same time ,now, good amount of oil on both ends , then use a vice- clamp down the end with the hose not to tight so it wont break but tight enought so you can put pressure down on the oder end- use a wrench grab a towel and push on it while you turn the wrench so the hose wont back out , i marked it with a sharpie so i can tell if is backing out
this way i did it on the first try just make sure its a clean cut on the hose it makes it aesier

Is the line supposed to be all the way in the red fitting? or just as far in as you can get it.

You want it ALL THE WAY IN. pound in on a hard flat surface. The rubber should be to the very top of the red fitting.

make sure it doesn't back out either.
