2G S90 Throttle body question

Hey guys, I picked up a used s90 throttle body from a member on here a few days ago but I noticed the plate seemed slightly open. Before I go about messing with it or installing it the way it is, I wanted to quickly check with everybody to see what they thought. Thanks

I know nothing of the s90, but I will say you can expect a raised idle.

A lot of throttlebodies are not meant to be completely closed. The slight opening allows for air to fuel the engine at idle is my guess.

It looks like he had a full block off cover underneath so he set it cracked open to help idle since it had no ISC to control it.

You can either install the lower section and run the ISC or keep it like this, its just harder to keep idling right when cold

That might be a little far open, but you probably don't want it to close completely either. When they shut all the way to where the blade rests on the bore they end up sticking.

Looks open a little too far. I would say the opening should be between a sheet of paper and the material a band-aid box is made out of. The rest should be handled by the ISC (if you use it) and the BISS. I have an s90 and the gap looks close to the stock throttle body gap.

Thanks for all the replies fellas, I'll go ahead and close the gap a little and then install it and see how it idles then make any more needed adjustments.

Ah, I guess since the flapper doesn't have air flow holes in it, it would require a slight opening to idle at all.
