Running only wideband? Can I do it?

I'm trying to make it to the races tomorrow. I don't have a datalogger I can use right now though and no exhaust. Only O2 housing. Downpipe gets here the day after the race (figures) so I have no way to install the wideband without taking out the stock O2. I'm running an Evo16g on 550cc injectors with no boost controller and it's running around 18 psi. Wanna make sure I'm safe with the afr's but wondering what'll happen if I take out the stock O2 and throw in the wideband for track duty for one day at wot down the track. My only tuning device at the moment is a gm translator and can't tell if it's the 1st version or a 2.0 version.

Wanna be as safe as I can. Really wanna make it cause it's the last race of the season and car just started acting up yesterday. I know it needs a tune but wideband is all I can use right now. Opinions?

I was spinning all the way down the 1/8th mile. Hell, from a roll at 75mph I was breaking traction to the top of 3rd cause it was pulling so hard. How do ya figure I don't need slicks? I even dropped the pressure to about 20psi and still spun like crazy. There's a guy running a 9.9 in the 1/4 on a 16g. I'm pretty sure he needed slicks to do it as well. Also, dunno if I mentioned it or not but this car is pretty gutted. Just has seats, dash, console, and door panels. That's it.

Without the wideband, I wouldn't have had any idea of what my afr's were. I'm glad I did it cause I wouldn't have known how many clicks to turn the knobs and probably would've blown the sucker up.

Here's a video of the run. You can tell I'm not anywhere near flooring it. Guess I should've mentioned that my time was a 9.6 at 83 mph whereas the guy I was racing ran a 9.7 at 70mph. I sure once I get slicks I'll be deep into the 8's, hopefully faster, in the 1/8th.

Racing starts at about 3/4 of the way thru the vid. Slip and slide...

P.S. Sorry it's not the greatest quality and not zoomed in. My g/f didn't know she could zoom in on a digi cam.
