Ok so I just want to see if someone has any new ideas.

1997 GST, 4g63t, pretty much stock (16g turbo, and thats it). I bought this thing barely working (engine harness is a mess, im fixing it as I go) but anything I do seems to make it worse and worse, im getting scared of touching it tbh.

Te car is running stupid rich, not making more than 3.5rpms when WOT then going down to 2k rpms and just staying there.

Things i've already checked
  • Timing, is perfect.
  • Brand new O2 front sensor, my scanner shows me it bounces from .2 to .9 volts
  • TPS sensor, I've followed some guides I found here and the sensor seems to be working correctly.
  • IAC sensor, same as TPS. Only thing I've noticed is I have 40ohms resistance between pins instead of the 28-33 the guides says I should have, but all the pins do have resistence.
  • I have disconnected the battery to reset ECU
  • Speaking of ECU, I took it apart and there seems OK. No blown or leaking capacitors
  • Smoke test to see if there were any vacuum leaks. I found one on my throttle body which was taken care off (boost gauge tells me I'm around -18 on vacuum).
  • Already put NGK's in
Codes

  • P0443 (expected since I deleted emissions)
  • P1104 (expected since with deleted emissions came simplified vacuum lines)
  • P0403 (again, deleted emissions)
Things to notice
  • I know the cluster is not from a GST, mine shat the bed so I got the cheapest GS cluster I could find, this engine is a 4g63t trust me. I have oil and boost gauges on my A pillar anyways.
  • The car came with a 1g camshaft position sensor. It seems to work OK, but I don't know how well the job was done. Engine is a 7bolt tho, since I have the oil pan that "drops down".
  • I do have my turbo pipes disconnected since I'm working in the engine bay and they're a nuisance. I don't know if the MAF is going crazy with this and making me go into limp mode or something.
  • 130psi compression on all cylinders (lowest was 128), which I know calls for rings sooner rather than later.
  • I don't know what's with the gas pump but its not loud enough to hear it when you turn the key.
Things I'm planning to do
  • Check the gas pump
  • Brand new spark plug wires
  • Coils, maybe?
  • Take out my injectors, clean them and have them tested.

I just want to know if someone has anymore ideas or if someone had an issue like mine to point me in the right direction. Right now it feels like I'm just changing out random stuff and hope something sticks.

If someone ever find themselves googling and finding this thread because you have the same symptoms, its your MAF.

You will have to check every cable going from the engine bay all the way to the ECU. Good luck.
