Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a quick search and found nothing.
Is there supposed to be a rubber nipple or cap on the brake light switch under the dash?
My lights have been on in the garage all day, and now my battery is dead.
When I push down on the plunger, the brakes shut off, but as soon as I re-adjust it, and the metal pedal hits it, they stay on.
I wedged a piece of cardboard in between the two, and like magic, everything is back to normal. WTF?!
Thanks in advance!

Anyone know of any solution to this besides taping a piece of cardboard to the pedal?

Any of the auto parts stores sell those little rubber stoppers/plugs in a variety pack for a couple bucks. Exact same thing happened to my wife's Integra.

Ok, I'm a little confused.

Are you saying when you're on the brake pedal it's lit and when you're not, it is...or when you press on the little button on the brake pedal, the brakes go out and when not pressed, they're on?

etay89 - Yeah, the lights would stay on no matter what, but when I would depress the plunger switch with my finger, it would go off, but if the pedal itself touched it, would stay lit. Weird.

steve - You're the man!
