rough starts in 1st gear

so ive noticed on my 2g n/t that when im stopped at a light or whatever and i start going in 1st that i dont have to give it much gas and it engages nicely and whatnot. in my 91 tsi i feel like i have to give it alot of gas and it feels almost like clutch chatter or something. the car feels jumpy when engaging. just isnt very smooth. any ideas?

Well its an older car so you might need a new clutch. Sounds like its getting worn out.

yeah i agree with riceburnerboy42 clutch is more than likely going out have you put your car on jack stands to check and se if it is disengaging properly

i have a brand new racing clutch put in. it did the same thing before the new clutch so i know its not that. just feels like it could be a little smoother ingaging
