Hey guys! First off, I'm new to this community and it's great to be a part of it :). Anyways, I just bought a 1998 GS-T, and when you start it when the engine is cold or has been sitting for a few hours, it takes about three to four seconds for the car to start (about 7 or 8 cranks.) You can smell a little fuel, so I don't think it's a fuel related issue. When the car is warm, you can turn it off, leave it sitting for a while (if it's still warm) come back and it will start up the very first crank. I have read other threads, but it wasn't quite like what I'm experiencing. The guy who owned it before me changed the starter, spark plugs, and water pump (just as a regular tune-up) but it didn't fix it either. Any good indications on what might be causing this?

I hope I'm not the only one with this problem  LOL

Well it is over 10 years old and it might take a little longer to start then a fresh 09 motor would. My Talon does the same thing and it runs perfect. Just a thought

Yeah, I never really thought about the age of the car LOL. It has 89,000 miles, so you do have a good point there. I'm going to run AMSOIL synthetic in it. I'm afraid to run it just yet because the 16G turbo only has a few thousand miles on it...just to give it time to break in some.
