I was wondering at what RPM's you all hit full boost. I never hit any boost over about 5 PSI in my GST, but I never go over about 4500 rpms driving around town. I don't know if there is a problem or I just hit high enough RPM's.

Thanks.

Yeah I dunno it seems like 1st on my car doesnt get as much boost as other gears. I figure its just because the turbo didnt get a chance to get up to speed. I wonder if ppl with sutterboxes get full boost in first?

The turbo spools at about 2.3K and gives full boost at about 3.5K in 1st and 2nd, takes a little longer in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Also u should be revving it higher when u want higher performance peak horsepower is at like 6000 rpms. Its a twin cam it can handle like 7800 rpm if u wanted it to but you'll be past the efficency limits of the stock turbo at that RPM but the engine can handle.

Stock cams cant go up to 7800 RPM without losing effiency.
His car has a revlimiter also which is at 7500 RPM.
if he has a 2g he shouldnt be going past 6k
1g he can go to around 6500-7k maybe but it will start dieing by then.

Was going to say same thing. Boost hits at 2.2-3 for me as well. Just spins the tires when I was stock, now I get wheel hop sometimes with the extra horsepower now:D. Also, your turbo spits out hot air after 6k RPM on the 2G, so its best to shift at 6100. You will always fall back in boost in the next gear, because the ratios are pretty close.

If you are putting the pedal to the floor, then you should definitely be hitting full boost well before that. My T28 hits full boost right at 3000, maybe 3100. The T25 spools even lower and faster than that.

another thing to add, you have very little load on the engine (as opposed to 3rd and 4th)so thats y spool up takes so many R's, i only hit like 5-7
