I recently got into DSM's and already I have a rod knock or believe I do so sorry if I ask a lot of questions I don't know much ... What should I do ? And where can I get it done near SoCal ? thank you for your time guys :)

You're going to have to post up more info. There couple things you could do, you could rebuild the engine (stock or fully built), buy long block or short block somewhere near you, you could buy a create motor from a vender, ect. Start off by posting your budget and more info on the motor that has rod knock. How did you come to the conclusion?

I have a rod knock every startup. last about 15 seconds and goes away. Probably just a weak oil pump but not sure because it stopped when the oil starts warming up. Anyway, could you describe when its knocking, how long, how you know its a rod??

This sounds more like lifter tick.

In the early stages of rod knock its faint and goes away sometimes and comes back (I've had it twice :(). So what the op is saying may be true. The best thing you can do is STOP turning it on and pull the pan and check for clearance on the bearings. If you catch it early enough, you may be able to salvage the crank and rods without machine work needed.

You could go take a look to your bearing it pretty easy to do it in place.
