I did a search but didnt find exactly my problem.

I have a stock 1996 Talon TSI awd auto trans, that has 159k on it. I do not know if the engine has even been rebuild. The auto trans has a fresh rebuild will all internals replaced

The noise starts at idle and seems to go away when the car is in drive or when the rpms raise. Someone looked at the car and seems to think it is a rod knock but i dont agree. I would think the rod know would not go away with rpms or transmission.
The noise seems to be coming from the left side around where the trans meets the engine but it is quite hard to tell.

I record a vid tomorrow and post it to see if anyone can offer there advice.

I was looking to sell the car but think i will get beat up on price with the noise as is.

Thanks

If the noise is coming from the bottom of the engine and not the top of the engine its possibly something in the connecting parts of the transmission and engine, such as the torque converter or the flexplate. It could be loose parts or broken parts. And like you said if it were a rod knock the noise wouldnt go away with increased RPM.
