Reverse lights

So when i go into reverse the lights flicker on just for a fraction of a second and then go off. Ive repelced bulbs and checked fuses. any common problems that are known with the reverse lights. IM no electrician but and can find my way around if need be, i am thinking loose connection. I assume there is a switch for when I got into reverse that runs the lights on, where is the switch physically located so i can check it?

Not sure how a 1g is, but there's a plug on the transmission for a 2g.

damn, nice tech post with all the pics, that is kinda handy, it would have been nice ot have that when i had my 2g. ill take a look on the tranny to see if i can find a plug/switch. any other suggestions? the light does come on just briefly.

I have a simliar issue, mine however simply doesn't come on. The back up light switch is in the same location as 2g. Any suggestions would equally be great. +1 on the the harness listings.

Check the reverse switch, it is the only thing the tranny has with a plug on the top of it, just check continuity, mine was bad.

check your grounds. did you take the light out? check the wiring. runs along the side of the car and along the door under the clips that hold the carpet in

As others have said, check the wiring in close proximity to that socket. Also, is the socket itself in good condition? When I bought my Talon I had to replace one of the sockets because it was somewhat corroded and was spreading to the wiring. If it's even just a bit nasty consider cleaning it up or replacing it entirely. They're like $3 at most parts places.

i think it is just a bad connection as i jiggled around some of the wires and it came on breifly, now i just need the time to diagnose where the connection is shotty. thanks for the advice guys
