Reverse Lights

So the problem is my reverse lights aren't working and I need my car to pass inspection. I had the same problem on my 98 gs-t and some guy just reached into the engine bad near where the fuse box is and did something and they started to work. I don't know if 1gs have the same type setup or whatever, but what should I check that would cause the reverse lights to stop working, other than burnt out bulbs of course. Thanks.

Check the connector right under the IC pipe that goes onto the transmission. It could have come loose or fallen off. It's just a black plug.
