my car has been sitting on the side of my house for the past 2 or 3 months while i was doing a head rebuild that just took me forever and i was wondering if it's normal for a turbo to smoke after sitting for that long. The smoke appears to be coming from around the o2 housing but i'm not 100% sure.

It was enough smoke to be coming out from under my hood but not really noticable. The car ran for around 15 minutes and was still doing this when it was shut off so i'm not quite sure if it's just oil on the surface or not.

If you got oil before to fall on the o2 and/or turbo area you can bet it will take quite a while to burn off.
Also make sure you have installed gaskets between your exhaust manifold-turbo and turbo-o2 housing and that you tightened them down well.

it's calmed down a lot so i'm going to have to hope that was the problem, just some left over oil trying to burn off. THANKS!
