My son used my gas can to mix two cycle oil without telling me, and I put about a half gallon in my tank, the car never actually ran on it, in fact it was only turned on and cranked but never started. Is there anything really serious to worry about, I figured drain the tank and put in some good fuel with some Sea Foam and hope the O2 sensor is not fouled, but do you think any worse damage? Thanks.

Premium doesn't dilute it - just adds more to it.

Do 85/87 unleaded if you want to dilute-less junk in this fuel than premium.

Reg unleaded burns hotter and cleaner than premium.

And the car will knock, knock, knock all the way home with 87 in it.

That little 4 oz bottle of 2 stoke oil won't make much of a difference in 16 gallons of gas (2048 oz). A 1:512 mix.

Just fill the car with what ever you normally run.

..put one gallon of 87 in it to dilute. 'sides, if you retard the timing some, then you won't knock.

We think he's gonna pull the tank and flush, then he'll be okey...

Next time dont hit the reply button. The OP simply asked if his car would run "okay" on the mishap. I dont think he would want to go through the trouble of retarding the timing and running 87. Seriously replys like this are the reason for flame wars and dead end threads.

He asked a simple question which was resolved 3 posts ago and who said the OP was going to pull the tank? That is a complete and entire waste of time. If your that worried unhook the fuel line from the rail and bypass the MPI with the jumper wire trick and run it until its dry. OR you could just drive it and feel better about saving the time or going through all of that for no reason

It's perfectly fine. Just run it like it is with a full tank of your preferred high-test fuel. You most certainly don't need to flush your tank or any craziness like that. And for the good Lord's sake, don't run 87 octane to 'dilute' it. Completely unnecessary. Heck - this is what I do on purpose to use up my left-over 2 cycle gas at the end of mowing season :D

Unless you're boosting all the way up your driveway, 87 octane alone will not make the car knock, you will need to be in boost for that to happen, normal driving will be fine until your next fill up of gas

Normal driving... no boost? ROFL

Well I think I am just going to filler up, put in the Sea Foam and go, sounds like it really is not as serious as I may have thought:D

i would not even worry i would just put more gas in it and run it. it will be fine.

Don't need to seafoam it, just a full take of premium and run it dry and then another full tank afterwards, that's it.

the oil will lower the octane rating of the gas, i would just fill up with premium gas and not run it hard, if anything its gonna get some of the carbon out of the combustion chamber and clean the intake valves and lubricate the upper part of the cylinder
