So lastnight I made hard lower intercooler pipe to fix the rigged up pipe I had for the 14b for temp. Drove the car and ran great. Later through the night I put a couple gallons of race fuel in. Drove good, then I did a pull. I blew a coupler off the lower intercooler pipe. I limped it to a parkin lot and fixed it. Ran good again. Then out of nowhere it starts to miss and run on 2 cylinders it sounds like. So I pulled over and the car is smoking like a frieght train. It was horrible. I got the misfire to go away and it drove fine. Then it started to miss and smoke yet again. So I took the terminal off the battery for 10 minutes and put it back on. It ran fine so I took it home and parked it. Woke up this morning and drove it. It ran perfect. I put it in neutral and revved it and out of nowhere it started to miss horribly and smoke. So I revved it up again then the miss went away. After a few revs my car billows out smoke like crazy. But let it idle and drive it it dont smoke.

Im so lost of whats going on. All couplers are on tight. Intake is on turbo good.
I'm not sure if its the race fuel thats messing with it or not. Car ran fine before I put it in.
I've ran race fuel through the car before and had no problems what so ever.

I have not had a chance to perform a boost leak test yet. I did pick up a boost leak tester today though.
Just went out to check my oil. Its barely reading on the dipstick. This car never burned our leaked any oil ever! Just a couple days ago it was a little above the top notch. The smoke smells like straight oil burning too.

Sounds like you could have fouled your plugs. If you ran too rich of gas without a proper tune this could happen. Check your spark plugs and make sure you have spark going to the spark plugs. Have you had your car tuned? Just curious.

I understand where your coming from with fouled plugs from the random miss. But that wouldnt have anything to do with burning oil. 14b has very minimal shaft play. Just a little up/down, no in/out at all. So im not sure if it could be the turbo. Last time I lost this much oil in a dsm was when my bullseye 50trim blew the seal and the oil feedline was leaking.

hmmm I was thinking something with the cat so all I can say is plugs, turbo ,or boost leak.

Yea, I had a problem with a cat on my 2003 nissan sentra ser spec v.
The cat is right off the headers on those cars. They like to suck the stuff out of the cat into the motor and ruin the cylinder walls. Then causes it to smoke and used alot of oil.

Did a boost leak test. I found a few instantly. Bov flange and the coupler that goes to the intercooler to lower intercooler pipe. I couldnt even test pressure at 20psi. It would loose pressure so fast. I'm gonna fix the leaks tomorrow. I understand that it can make my car run bad but would it really make my car smoke bad?

Yes, as your fuel trims are way off. The only dithering problem that could be foreseen is your turbo is trying to make x amount of boost while you are loosing x amour from leaks. It's causing the turbo to work much harder to achieve the set pressure and it could have induced failure.

May I ask why your are adding race fuel to it in the first place? Do you not have 93 pump PA? Just curious, because with a setup like yours. Race fuel is more than likely hurting more than helping, unless you have a ton of knock, if which is the case, needs to be fixed.

Since nobody else asked, what color is the smoke? Oil usually dosnt burn on and off, it will have a common factor, like startup, boost, idle ect.. Not just randomly burn and then not. If the smoke is blue its prob oil, if its black then its the extra fuel you arent burning when the plugs get fouled. I had a similar problem few years back, the car sounded like a Subaru and shot out BLACK smoke, changed the plugs and problem solved. Plugs are cheap, just try to change them and see if it goes away.

I was actually trying to get the car ready for Muncie dragway since all my friends were going. I put a few gallons in to make sure it would perform it's best. I knew it took away some knock. I've seen 1g's with a setup similar to mine and the times they ran were pretty impressive for just adding race fuel. Reason why I added race fuel.

1g's have very aggressive timing maps stock. So raising the boost usually creates excessive knock, i just added some Xylene to my gas and it completely killed all my knock. 2g's timing maps are far more conservative and prob wont see the same gains. What was your knock count to begin with if you dont mind me asking? if you didnt have knock in the first place it wont make a difference. Most people who use race fuel on lightly modded cars do it so they can run more boost without getting knock. So if you not raising the boost it just going to run richer.

Exactly, that's what I had in mind. I've blew couplers before. When blowing couplers I would notice a very rich smell of fuel and the smoke was black. This smoke is white with a tad of blue tint to it. I smell the burning oil very strong.
Just out of thought. Could I have blew the seals in this turbo? Pushing the 14b harder then it should to make the amount of boost that I was making when it was all just leaking out from boost leaks.

The smoke is white/grey with a tint of blue. I know for a fact it's oil burning. It's burned atleast 2 quarts from what I can see because of this reason.

Wishing I had a logger, sadly I don't. I'm not sure of the counts of knock. I just thought if there was any knock, the race fuel would take car of some of it. Running 17psi, I'm thinking it seen some knock on pump and little to none on race fuel. I've ran race fuel before. I can tell it makes a little difference in my car.

So, I fixed all the boost leaks. Did good.

New update: car stopped smokin while I was driving. Did a pull, heard something blow out. Lost all my oil in like 2 seconds through the exhaust. Turbo's done for.

Appreciate all the replies guys.
