What's involved in replacing my stock springs with titanium springs? Is it going to be expensive? I am running hks 264/272 cams on stock-head internals.

oh yea...don't mind the oil on the timing belt, that's already been taken care of.

There are no titanium valvesprings available for our engines, as far as I know. You can get stiffer valve springs with titanium retainers. With your cam setup, you shouldn't need much of a valvespring upgrade, if any. Maybe take a look at the BC springs.

Like what GVR is implying, if you arent revving 7.5k or more you shouldnt have a problem with your stock valvetrain unless its just going to give with old age.

Replacing springs consists of pulling the cams, valve locks, and retainers and replacing each spring one by one. Thats with an attachment to your spark plug hole to pressurize the cylinder to keep the valves up, then using some type of spring compressor that bolts to the top of your head to depress the springs.

Just adding titanium retainers would be enough to handle those cams up to 8500 rpm's. If you're really worried about it and on a tight budget, you can shim the stock springs for more seat pressure.
