Well my alternator pulley snapped the other day when I launched it and I spent all morning trying to get the new one back on. Finally got it all on and tightened everything back up and started it and next thing i hear is squealing and smoke so i turn it off and see that the belt behind the alternator belt on the crank pulley came off. What I want to know is if there is supposed to be any movement in the crank pulley? I could move mine in and out by about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Here is a picture to what I am talking about.

Hey man you need a new crank pulley. There should be no movement in the pulley. It is known that the glue that holds the rubber to the metal starts to deteriorate over time:thumb:

I agree with the others, that should move at all. And you need to replace that asap and shouldn't drive on that unless you damn well NEED to.

As well just replace it with a stock piece or equivalent, as long as it has the dampener in it because solid crank pulley have been know to cause problem with some dsm'ers

Ya i found out the outer rim separated from the pulley itself. How much you think these things go for because someone local has one but hasn't told me a price on it. Also...car is on jackstands now so it isnt moving for a while haha.
