FAIL!!!!

Here is the results:

Cruise limit allowed: 220 125 Pass
CO(%) allowed 1.2 5.67 FAIL
Idle limit: 220 278 FAIL
Idle CO(%) allowed 1.2 4.58 FAIL


So I had pulled a CEL for coolant sensor, fixed it and my car runs quite a lot better. Then I got some spark plugs and did them. NGK pb06es, and the car ran better still. So I did the test and still failed.

My CEL has not come back at all... I am thinking that I need a new upper O2 sensor. What do you think?
 
The high CO levels indicate a rich mixture, especially the idle readings. You need to hook up a logger & check the front o2 crosscounts & readings at your failure point rpm`s . . . :talon:
 
Well, I swapped out my stock BOV (broken nipple) for a EVO 8 BOV... Now I think I am going crazy because my car idle is now steady at 1000rpm with very little movement. And of course my car handles boost a lot better. Could a bad BOV or perhaps the connection to it be at fault, giving me a boost leak and therefor mess up the idle and fuel maps? I am thinking I may pass the emissions but I dont know.

YES. A faulty BOV can cause boost leaks. ANY AND ALL boost AND vacuum leaks will cause your car to run rich and hence fail emissions control. I know... I have the same problem. Working on fixing it right now. Hopefully, I'll have it all resolved soon and pass "air care" (emissions control). Do a boost leak and vacuum leak test and fix ALL vac/boost leaks. Car will run better and pass air care. If it still doesn't pass, get a new Catalytic converter and O2 sensor. Good luck.
 
What are the odds, I have 3 post about basically the same thing and problem. I failed my emissions and therefor was going to do a seafoam clean out through the BOV vac tube. Then pow my Bov nipple breaks. Replace it and now I take the test and here is the change from test one.
Cruise limit 220
Original test 125, now 120 pass
idle limit 220
original test 278, now 202 pass
idle limit co% 1.2
original test 4.58, now 1.07 pass
cruise co % limit 1.2
original test 5.67, now 2.3 FAIL

Ok so that was my major problem! Stupid BOV. Now I am fairly sure I am leak free because of how well the car is feeling. What are the odds that I would just happen to break and fix the whole boost leak without even knowing it was there? Time to make a boost leak tester so this will never happen again. So now I am going to seafoam it and see if I cant get this finished. Thanks all.

Here is the results of the seafoam...
cruise limit: 220
b4 seafoam 110 after 85 (wow) pass
idle limit 220
b4 seafoam 202 after 178 (wow) pass
Co% idle limet 1.2
b4 seafoam 1.09 after 1.07 pass
Co % cruise limit 1.2
b4 sefoam 1.07 after 1.09 FAIL again.

With the sea foam I noticed a very small amount of that nasty smoke that came from near the turbo, I am guessing I have a small hole in my Manifold or perhaps one of the connections or sensors are leaking, do you think this could be the reason for the failed test?
 
After everything I found out I had 3 problems. 1 leaking BOV. 2 exhaust leak. 3rd and final was a faulty O2 sensor. I passed the test now. Thanks all for the help over the last few months, and I am finally back to driving my baby! Intake goes in Friday.
