sorry to put another thread for this up guys but im new to this and need some help please. i've done some research and found nothing about how to do a BLT. i am not sure how to do a boost leak test, or what i need to do one..could someone here please explain how to do BLT and what i need to do one.. much help would be apperciated..thanks

the reason i need this is cause my 98 GST 6 bolt is not boosting at all, when i push it the boost gauge goes to like 15psi and im not feeling any push at all..just makes noise and the car dies sometimes , like the rpm gets pretty low and just dies..it won't turn on after it dies..takes a while to start..it turns and cranks and cranks but don't start, after a while then it starts..and no boost..no feel of boost what so ever.. i don't have a MBC, running stock boost..i do have a boost gauge and i recently changed the ignition coil pack and the colant temp sensor..and i checked my stock T25 turbo and there is some shaft play..could this be it? i did some research and found out that it could be wastegate is bad..im not sure what's going on..some help here please..thank you.

Well I'm sure that I won't be the last one to say this so here it goes. The search feature is your best friend, weither it be here on the Tuners forum or another forum or even search engines.

With that being said here is a good thread to check out http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tur...ack-basic-correct-way-do-boost-leak-test.html especially post number 2.

I personally, bought my tester instead of building it. But if you wanted to build yours you would need a coupler that would adapt to the intake side of the turbo to like a 2.5 in outlet. Then purchase a pvc pipe cap that matches the outlet side of your coupler. Then purchase a valve stem (similar to bicycle valve or automotive) or you could purchase a regulator setup with a gauge on it (recommended way) and adapt it to your pvc cap this way you can limit the airflow. You will also need some worm clamps (radiator clamps).

Here's some more links that I ran across... I'm still looking for the link to where I got mine.
