For those of you that have done the Galant alternator swap on a 2g, what is the Mitsu part number? I'm in desperate need of replacing it, but am not sure which one exactly it is, and of course, my local dealer didn't know anything either. Also, is there any vendor that I can get one at quickly and possibly cheaper than the $275 they quoted me? Thanks!

The alternator is OEM Mitsu number M310997D (95 Galant)

And in my case at least, I had to replace the OEM belt with a 39.5 inch belt.

So far its running great and I haven't had any issues.

It wasn't too bad pricewise, significantly cheaper than an Eclipse one. I need the car daily so I didn't have any time to mess with it, otherwise I would have looked into the Saturn one.
