i thought the vibrating sound i hear when i kick my heater to high was my air filter box. it sounds like its coming from behind the glove box... i took a look from the underside and am under the impression that my fan sits there... if there is no filter, then i'm not hearing the filter box rattle, and all the screws i can get to without taking the glove box out are tight... anyone else have this problem? a way to fix the rattle?

fix the rattle by turning it down a notch.

you got something in the squirrel cage. Only way to fix the rattle is to take it apart and dump the junk out.

it only rattles when its on the second setting, and the high setting... low and third are quiet. my brother said its probably just the fan. my guess is that its caked with dust.

so, do i need to take any screws out other than those ones on the bottom of the fan case to get it off?

i just hope whatever i find in there is dead. haha...

On a 1G outside air comes in through driver's side grill (right up by the windshield), travels through the structure of the car over to passenger side, there it gets into the blower fan, and comes out at whatever vents are open. For re-circulation air is pulled in around where passenger foot/leg area is.

It is possible to install a filter on the incoming outside air, simply pull out the vent grill and install a washable filter (like 'cut to size' washable filter for household A/C), then snap the grill back and it will hold the filter in place.

Hmm...Then why does my vent smell like piss when i turn it on...Seriously it smells like piss.

Make sure that the blower doesn't look like this:
