*EDIT - SOLVED: Applied lots of force and mild amounts of profanity*

Apologies for possibly the worst question on the forum's history...

I cannot get my air filter out of my 92 Talon (turbo awd). *pause for raucous laughter*

I've followed the guidelines in the Haynes manual, detaching spring clips, unplugging connectors, and removing the housing bolts and nuts.

I understand I'm supposed to be able to push the rad hose out of the way and then slide the filter out, however the filter housing doesn't seem to be able to move far enough over to be able to get the filter over the sensors inside. Am I supposed to just reef on the darned thing to get it out, or is there a step I'm missing?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the silly question.

Yeah, theres no easy method to removing the filter without having to move some hoses and/or wrestle the filter can out. I typically remove the BOV housing pipe from the filter can, and then disconnect a few hoses and disconnect the intake pipe from the turbo inlet and snake out the entire assembly that way. Label everything if you aren't comfortable with the emissions/vacuum lines.

I did mine today on my stock 92.
Take the intercooler to bov hose off at the air box. Unbolt the 2 bolts on the top of the airbox. Loosen the intake clamp at the air box. Unhook the MAF and BCS connectors. Remove the 3 hold down bolts and the rubber intake tube from the box and twist the air box out. Really super easy. My 18 yr old had it all under control b4 I got outside.
