First off... I have had this issue for as long as I can remember. I just learned to live with it because it really isn't that big of a deal, but I'm bored so I am posting this up.

Whenever I'm cruising and on boost, if I let off of the gas all the way. The bov vents out fine. But if I'm boosting and I let off partially. I get a flutter/surge and the car jerks a little. I also have the adjuster screw on the bov very high up (low setting). Any ideas on this?

Does the type-s have different springs to put in? Maybe you are running a stiff spring

I bought it used.. It has double springs in it. I don't know anymore than that... And I am running 20 psi...

Is you bov vented or recirculated?
When is the last time you changed your plugs or at least checked the gap?

The fluttering under partial boost is normal, you may be able to adjust the bov a little better to compensate.

The stumbling and jerking sounds like bad plugs. Make sure they're not fouled out and gapped between 0.28 and 0.30.

Check your plug wires for resistance (with a multimeter on the ohms setting) as well and post your results while your at it.

It's been doing this ever since I put the type s on. It has nothing to do with plugs and wires at all. I've been through others for different reasons. It almost feels as if when I go to partial throttle from full throttle that my throttle opens and closes two times really quick.

I had the same problem with my 95 AWD untill i recirculated now car runs fine still does it some times though when running high boost and letting off slightly on the pedal, my evo also does this when you do the same thing (hit boost and let off slitely) so would think its normal.

I've always recirculated as long as I've had this car. It has just always done it. For instance... if I put the cruise control on and it hits the gas to go up a a slight incline and then lets off, but not all the way, it will do it then.

It could be the BOV leaking. Have you done a boost leak test? The diaphragms in the Type S bov's are notorious for tearing and causing a leak. Also, what kind of fuel pump do you have?

Ive also read about taking the lower nipple of the bov and hooking it into your intercooler pipe before the bov to give it a true boost source to make the bov close quicker so that it want flutter when boost builds again

I might try the lower nipple idea. I have a 190 pump, everything I have is in my profile, but the pump has nothing at all to do with this. Also, it's been doing this forever and I have taken the BOV apart and the diaphram was fine.

I had the same flutter problem when I was using a cut dump tube with a 3000GT BOV. I changed back to the OEM dump tube and everything was fine again. Meanwhile I am using a 1G BOV...
