Alright, I have gone through three alternators here in the last year. I searched how to find a short but i don't believe that is the problem. I didn't have any of these issues I believe until i hooked up my rpm switch i believe. The reason i believe this is the cause is that the fprs is hooked directly to the battery not inside the cabin. The way the switch is designed is not to power the fprs until it reaches the 4100rpms. So could it possible be the that fprs is putting a drain on the system? Also i noticed that there is a different gauge wire that is connected to 1g cam sensor that i have, I know that that is there from when the people put in the 6-bolt. Which is not soldered it is connected by clamps. so next question is that could that be causing a short. These two things are the only things that have changed since i have started having these issues.

I would take it up to your local auto part store and get the battery and alternator tested, this some test some times detects an insufficient ground or bad connection. Do you have an AMP or any other kind of electrical system hooked up that might be draining the battery and making the alternator work to hard?

No amp, the only things that are after market in my car that require power are the 3 gauges and 4 speakers cd player and my I/M set up the speakers are 6x9 and 6,1/2

Ok... Im confused. i have a new battery and new altenator why is the battery still dying

I checked everything earlier the battery ground is good.. i checked the altenator is one good also i tried to check the starter but i couldn't find anything loose.. Other than that what would say it could be.

I took the alternator off and i noticed there is alot of oil on and around the area, could this be what is causing the alternators to go bad? I think the oil is leaking from the valve cover area also. but i read that the galant alternator puts out 90 amps and is a direct bolt up. Will there be any issues with fues going out with the added power?

No issues with the added power from the alt its still 12.4 to 14.4 Regardless In fact added power is a GOOD thing......

Yes Oil will damage the alt...

You need to do a current draw check... To do this get a good volt meter, Turn it on DC 12volt
and Undo your ground..... Hook one terminal of the meter on the ground cable that runs to the car, and the other lead back to the batteries ground....This is in Series
This puts the meter directly inline with your ground and shows you what the current draw is if any when the car is off....

If you have a current draw then start Pulling fuses one at a time till it goes away that will show you what area the draw is coming from:thumb:

Hope this helps...

I think you mean Amps instead of Volts right? Car off should be drawing about 35 mA (for computer, etc).
