+1 :D It shot out oil when we cranked it.

I'm not sure why my car's oil light isn't turning off and the oil pressure gauge isn't showing pressure, but if the pump is working I'll mark this thread solved.

I should probably just get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

Did you reconnect the wire to the oil pressure sending unit? I bet this is the problem and you actually have pressure.

Yes, I reconnected it to the pressure sending unit and I cleaned the clip for it that sits on the oil filter housing.

This thread really had me scratching my head. If you look at the pic I've posted below, the RRE turbo oil feed line is above the oil pump, so Brunett03 should be right about disconnecting the line to see that the pump is primed.

As for the reason you're not seeing oil in the head, I'm stumped. I'm wondering if there's something wrong internally that is keeping oil from following the path it needs to so it can reach the head. The pump may be primed, but I'd keep a close eye on the oil filler hole to be sure the head is getting lubricated once you finally decide to fire it up.

I'm wondering how big of a hand pump you are using and how quickly you are pumping the oil. I suppose its possible that if you go too slow the oil could be seeping down into the pan through the turbo or inside the engine before it reaches the head. With enough oil going in quickly, you should hear it forcing out air while you're pumping. This method worked immediately for me and was recommended to me by RRE. I don't know much about 2g's, but they do have different oil filter housings, but I would think that the method would still work. I might make an edit to the tech article stating that I have a 1g w/ a 1990 oil filter housing.

If you remove the T-belt and spin it with an electric drill on high speed it will build sufficient pressure to move oil to the top of the head. I did it without the turbo hooked up and the valve cover off and it sprayed oil about 5 feet over my 6' tall head and about 3 feet laterally. I had my dad sit in the car and read the stock pressure gauge and it read slightly over half way while spinning the pump with a drill. If you choose to do it this way there should be some resistance and it should take effort to hold the drill straight. Its quicker, easier, and much cheaper to do it this way than to replace a fresh rebuild.
