I need help. I am changing my head gasket and upgrading my turbo, so I compiled a list of parts that I have currently and parts I still need to buy. This is where I need help, I need to know if I'm missing anything.

I really don't want to take the block out of the car, do I absolutely need it decked for the MLS gasket? The car never overheated and never had bad oil pressure. Also, I plan on taking the pan off and resealing it while I already have the car in pieces . Should I get a gasket or just do it with silicone? What gaskets do I need to use silicone on for added security?

Also, the ring that goes in between the turbo to manifold gasket, do I need to reuse that when putting on the 16g? Obviously the t25 one is too small and if I get one for the 16g it wont fit to the 2g manifold.

No you dont use the ring. No you dont need the block decked, but the head should be checked and maybe resurfaced.
Personally your throwing away money running royal purple in your engine. can Mobil 1 is a great choice for anything and cheaper. I wouldntwaste money on that. You own a pretty much stock car.
Oh and the oil pan uses rtv black or equivelent....as according to the oem manual. The gaskets suck.

I work at an auto parts store so I get the parts relatively cheap including the oil. This is just the beginning of me Modding the car I plan on putting 264's on and bigger injectors and a 255lph pump with a rewire..

Why arnt you replacing the hydrolic tensioner as well?

I'm replacing every timing component. I might have put automatic tensioner down instead of hydraulic. Anything else you recommend changing?

i would buy the oem, prebent hose from the pcv to the intake manifold. Ive run regukar 5/16 rubber hose and it always gets kinked. Also you better oirt that 02 housing when running a 3" dp or enjoy the boost creep.

I'm going to attempt to port it, I'm planning on getting an external dump soon so porting it will be a temporary band aid. I looked at vfaq and saw the page on it so ill be taking a go at it. Thanks for the help man.

Oh one more question I want to use rolocs to get the gasket material off the block instead of razor blades. Do you recommend this and what type of roloc would you use.
