So I replaced the rear differential with a spare one I picked up a while back. If I remember correctly, both rear wheels spun in the same direction with fronts grounded. With the "new" diff in, they spin the opposite direction. I haven't put fluid in it yet and both look identical. I had to swap the covers since the old one was cracked. They both had Viscous LSD B1H sticker. Could the LSD be bad?

If it does have a bad LSD, can I simply swap it from the old diff? Or do I have to shim them properly?

FYI - Car does have welded center diff.

Thanks, Tony!

It is differentiating, so it must not be welded and appears it is an open dif since the wheels spin in opposite directions, indicating that the spyder gears are doing their job.
Not what you want to hear and maybe I am wrong.....
I see that the CENTER dif is welded but still if the rear dif is going different directions Tony, it has always been because I had an open dif. My "posi" or LSD rears would spin in the same direction.

I’m certain it has welded center. Rear wheels would lock up when I was making turns at low speeds.

Yeah Tony, when I first read it I thought you were talking about the rear dif being welded then saw it was the center dif.
