I found the source of my gas leak about a week ago. The fuel line from the fuel pump assembly going to the engine was leaking because it was corroded and gas was spraying everywhere. I tried taking off the 3 lines from the assembly, but they were so corroded the ALL broke off without much force.
I've called part places, junkyards etc, and no one seems to have used 2g AWD fuel assemblys around or forsale. The dealers around here charge 495 new :\ . I don't have that much money at the moment and was wondering if there was a way to repair it? I found a FAQ about repairing a 1g AWD fuel assembly, but they seem to only have one line coming out [ that i could tell from the only picture in the faq/tech guide] . My 2g fuel assembly has 3 lines.
I talked to one place, which will remain unamed. Thier directions seemed somewhat good, until they said to use 'jbweld' . I've done a search on this fuel assembly issue and read 2 threads where people stated jbweld would get eaten away by gas and to use 'quick steel'... so that XXXX place lost all its creditibilty in its directions once they said to use jbweld.
Does anyone have some detailed instructions on how to repair my 2G AWD fuel assembly?
The one shop gave me directions along the lines of
1] cut jagged edges flush with assembly cover
2] Drill holes bigger
3] I would guess get rid of the metal tubes already there on the underside of assembly that connect everything to top?
4] get fuel line, thread into rubber hose from fuel pump? [ forgot what he said to thread into ]
bend it stick it thro drilled hole, and reconnect to old lines..something like that
Here is a picture of my broken fuel assembly. The top is coated with rust [ from all the gas leaking out the line onto the cover ] while the portions actually inside the gas tank look mint .

. [ no one has this part ARRGGG, cant even find it in dsmtrader, or the classifieds here
] They also gave me tips trying to fix it, and told me to call back in a week to see if they get anymore.
, just make sure it is from a 2G AWD as FWD ones differ and won't work.
