I am currently putting in an Eagle stroker kit into my 98 GSX. Both Eagle and my machine shop said that I should be shifting this engine @ 7,800rpm on the track. The problem with that is the stock limiter will not allow me to rev the car that high... Without buying a stand alone computor is there any way to get rid of the stock limiter? - Oh and I called MSD to see if putting in a DIS2 would allow me to raise it, and they said that you can only LOWER it from the factory ECU.

- Thanks -

I think your best solution is DSMlink. You'll need to find a 95 eprom ecu, then get it socketed, check out their site. www.dsmlink.com

just long as you know those strokers dont like to rev higher than 7.5
I mean you can do it, i know some guys round here in tampa who build dsms
and they did a 2g with a fully built 500 + whp 2.4 stroker and they were revvin out to 10k
But needless to say that engine was a race only engine, didnt last too long from the high revs causing side loading and bearing issues, but they did it just for kicks, even though it did last quite a while. there going back to a 2.0 for this .
Moral is , your engine life may be short with high revs and some would even think 7.8k rpm would be alot on stroker.

You will need a socketed 95 eprom ecu, and a reprogrammed eprom(chip).

There is no need to spend big $$$ on DSMLink or MSD if all you want to do is change the Rev Limit. If you are at all computer savvy you can program your own chips. Check out my site http://home.dejazzd.com/ceddy/ for info on the 2g ecu.
