Removing My Power Steering Unit....difficult?

DSM lovers...........i'm not real familiar with my beautiful 97 gst as i was accustomed to my honda.........but i want to remove my power steering unit........for one.........i am to broke to replace my belt which needs replaced.......for two, i plan on doing all the weight reduction i can. what happens if i were to just take my belt off for now until i have time to actually take all components out? also, is there anything i can buy that would help me do this?

Its really easy to take it out... 2 bolts.

yeah first off i think doing this is dumb, a car that comes with power steering from the factory usually turns like shit without it. second off a belt is about 15 bucks.

yeah i would also like to say i think your dsm will end up being a peice of shit if you can't handle this job because they are high maintenance cars, so unless you have a big pocket book or can handle a job harder than this you are f-ed

The power steering in my 1G it out right now because my cooling lines have a gaping hole, and it is a PITA to turn if you're going really slow, or really fast.

the pump itself is 4 bolts - bad idea
