I have been wanting to remove my power steering lately. The pump is leaking all over the alternator and I just hate having to deal with and work around it. I have the head off right now and was really wanting to get rid of the pump, lines, and that whole bracket. Is it possible to just drain and remove the resivoir, pump, and lines and leave the rack? Will it work and operate as a manual rack? Obviously I would throw a manual rack in eventually just not right now.

I just looped the lines back together on the rack. Mine has been like that for 2 years.

I think it is a bit harder to turn than a manual rack, but since I have never turned a steering wheel in a manual car, it is just a guess.
