Removing evap cannister question?

Basically my fuel feed line is leaking so Im replacing the line and the filter and In the process I have removed the evap cannister and that mess of plastic valves. I have no reason for deleting the evap system other than I dont feel like putting all that stuff back as it was a pain to get out. I have searched and still have two questions. Could I just put a mini breather filter on the hard line that runs from the tank? What problems could this cause?

And would it be possible to use one of the existing check valves and run a hose from the hard line to the check valve, then to the intake so technically the fumes would be recirculated? What problems could this cause?Thanks for your help.

I just left my line hanging there with the tiny canister that is inline before the charcoal canister on it. No problems here and there shouldn't be any reasons for problems.

The only issue you may run into is the gas cap pressure test when you get new tags, some places do it, some don't.

well, i had no check engine light until i unhooked all the canister stuff, and now i got codes, one is for something about the fuel system. but i also did away with all my vacuum and egr.

Im not worried about the check engine light or the gas cap test. What Im really worried about is a fire from gas fumes going into the engine bay.

Just take a piece of vacuum hose and make a 180* bend and point it towards the back of the car. This line can't be capped off, so might as well vent it under the car and not into the engine bay. I've had mine like this for a while and no problems. I don't think the fumes would be potent enough to warrant worrying, but at least you're thinking safe.
