Once you pulla sensor it throws a CEL and you wont pass ODB2 inspection. Pending you have a way to turn it off, the only two sensors in your emissions system are the EGR on your intake manifold which you can get a blockoff plate to replace and for the 2g I believe the Rear 02 is also emissions related. Most of your evap system is a hell of a lot of vacuum hoses and you mega canister.
 
You can remove all of the vacuum hoses and the canister from the car as well as the EGR valve but you will want to leave everything plugged in otherwise you are going to have problem. Even though I don't think Illinois has emissions inspections.
 
In IL, only 95 and below DON"T have emissions testing. Everything above still has to pass, so I recommend keeping it all in there.
 
I'll not pretend to know what kind of emission testing is done in Illinois. But what 95blackGsTurbo is saying is that you can remove all the hoses and the canister without causing a CEL, but once you disconnect one of the sensors or solenoids that managed the hoses, valves and canister, a pretty orange light will illuminate your dash. So anything connected to the wiring harness needs to stay. Even if it doesn't go to anything and is just hanging there, or better yet, secured to something nearby so you can put everything back if need be.
 
Thanks for expanding on that, makes sense now... So is there any mechanical side effects to removing the evap system...?

Here in texas (where i live) we dont need it at all, so i want to get rid of all i can....
 
What all can I take out to remove my evap and Exactly what sensors on the firewall can I safely remove. And other sensors as well. Thank you

Jen, you can remove every vac line, solenoid, and charcoal canister if you dont need to worry about emissions, just be sure to cap off the vacuum ports on the throttle body. Basically leaving only the vac lines for the BOV and the FPR off the manifold.

makes sense, and basically hide the sensors and they become n/a? And I should only need the fuel sensor from the looks of it...

im doing this as well... i dont have emissions laws what so ever. i already ripped out my rear o2 sensor and replaced the front with an AEM WB, im about to put on my FMIC and i needa get rid of the charcoal canister. does someone have a write up on this? or can someone give specific instructions to me so that i can take pictures and transfer that to a writeup for anyone else wanting to do this? are the TB nipples the only things you have to cap off? can you remove ALL of the sensors and EVERYthing related to the charcoal canister. i dont want to remove the EGR valve YET as i have a new Intake manifold with an EGR block off already. but its not going to get thrown in very soon. so what im asking is. how do i rip out all the evap stuff while leaving the EGR valve in place and not having to mess with that stuff. i need this charcoal canister and all its components GONE asap!
 
It is still a violation of federal law to remove emission systems and it will not help performance to remove it and will kill resale value of your vehicle. Concentrate on tuning...
