Well my head with cams, intake and exhaust manifold went flying through the air hit the ground. I was pulling the head off from inside the engine bay and was stepping out. When I was stepping out I slipped on some anti-freeze and my foot got stuck. Long story short I have torn ligaments and muscle around my knee and head went flying in the air. I put a new head gasket on and looks like the cam gears are bent a little bit. Can I change the cam gears with out redoing a timing belt job?

Sorry to hear about your accident.

Remove tension from the timing belt, pull off whichever cam gear is bent while keeping the rest of the belt stationary, and replace. If the marks line up, you got lucky. If not, then you need to line them up again. It shouldn't be hard as all of the timing marks except for your one cam gear should line up the same. With no balance shafts, I get the timing marks lined up the 1st time, which is usually about a minute.

Thanks for the reply. I was affaid you would say that. I was trying trying to see if there was a trick to getting them off without doing all that work again.
