Removing 1G/2G valve cover breather nipple?

Yeah, the 1G has an elbow, so it points to the rear of the car, and the 2G (as you surely know being a 2G owner) is straight and points to the passenger side. It's no biggie to leave it alone and extend my breather hose (haven't put in a catch can yet), but if it's no big deal, I may do it.

You will be fine to swap them. The threads are the same, and i wouldnt cut the lip off of the stock one, since the hose may come off. Unless you clamp it with something. Extending you hose wont hurt a thing.

- The nipples are pressed in, not threaded in. They can usually be removed with the twist and pull method. This is the best option.

- I don't see a problem with cutting the elbow off if you go for that option, just be sure to use a hose clamp. Also clean up any shavings, and watch where you are throwing sparks.

- You could always extend the hose to reach the elbow. Good luck.

They are pressed in as stated by Auto RS T,I bought a JDM cover off Ebay that didn't have the tube, and used the one off my junk cover. I used vice grip, clamped them on the tube(not too tight, don't crush the tube)and worked and twisted and pulled until it came out. Then I used a rubber mallet to tap it into my new cover.

If you wanna just swap it's not too bad. Like dikdiamond said, just get some vice grips or channel locks and twist and pull, then use a rubber mallet to hammer back into new VC. Worked for me :D

Time for a thread revive, I tried taking the breather nipple out with the twist and pull method, and it broke..... So now it is stuck in the VC. Is there an easier way to get it out than drilling, I was thinking a torch and pliers. I need to fill the hole with aluminum to seal it (I have breather ports welded on the top of the VC) Also I know there are shaving in the VC itself, is there an easy way to get them out, or do I need to cut the baffle and clean it that way

sorry it took so long

That sucks bigtime. Ide try using a good penetrating oil and let it sit for a bit
then try to pull it out. Maybe even heat up the surrounding aluminum a bit too. If it breaks off any more maybe try an easy out bit that fits into the inside of it.

is that broken in there like that? if so try pliers put them inside of the breather and expand them so they dont slip out while twisting and pulling.

I tried penetrating oil, a torch, pliers, even a drill, it wont come out, could not get it to budge.
