Remove tranny dowel from Engine Block?

Having a bi*** of a time pulling it out of my destroyed 7 bolt.

Need to get it into my 6 bolt so I can stuff the tranny on.

Any advise on how to remove the dowel?

The dowel should just come out by hand?

Vice grip it out and get new ones. You might need to use a screwdriver and hammer to dent it in a bit.

Cool. Basically I was using a pair of pliers with a rag wrapped around it so I didn't scuff it up.

Looks like I'll need to get something with a little more "oopmth" to get it pulled out.

When I had a hard time getting my dowel out, I heated the area around it for a little bit with a propane torch and then it came right out with some vice grips and a little bit of twisting action. Good luck.

+1. Mine always get out of round when I try to pull them out and are a pain to put in after that. The price of new ones is so cheap that there is not reason not to get them(unless you are in a super hurry).

if all else fails you could drill it out as well. that's what i had to do on the 1st gen i had.

Hmm...well if the Mitsu dealer has one....screw the monkeying around, I'll just smack a new one into my 6 bolt
