What the title states.

Yes or no ? And why ?
Kind of undecided right now.

Remove it immediately, makes the engine bay look that much better. Be sure to loop the new non cruise cable underneath the intake manifold for a much cleaner look. Who drives their dsm on the highway with cruise control on anyway?

^^go drive for 2 hours on a highway with no other traffic, then a few more hours straight after that, your leg begins to hurt bad.

i'll tell you what, my fiancee has a 2000 chevy malibu, and whenever we go somewhere, i will drive. and i love the cruise control. then when i jump in my car, i miss it, so if i was you, i would leave it. unless you do a complete wire tuck. it is not like you are saving tons of weight

I used the crap out of cruise control, but when I did my build I took it out, frees up soooooo much room and makes it a million times better looking, you'd be surprised. It sucks driving without cruise control but you gotta pay to play and I think it's worth it!

P.S. - Step your game up and remove the AC, then it looks even better :)

Not trying to jack this thread but. Im changing my steering wheel. Where can i mount the speed selector? If i have to fab something up it's no big deal if I get rid of the cruise control im just lazy haha . IM hoping i cant mount it anywhere so I have an excuse when some one asks why I got rid of my cruise coontrol haha.

I was thinking the same, weather or not to remove mine. Mine acts up. Is there a tut or anything about removing it, and what to remove?

My ac and power steering are staying no matter what and i'm not removing my cruise control cause of weight more of a cleaner look as mentioned above.
I see there are more towards the "take it off" option.
I think i'm going to yank it out today.

And for the questions above for achelea, i use my car everyday, i never make long ass drives, and to be honest, i never use cruise control really, maybe 2 times out of having the car for the first year i have owned it.

I was having issues with the cruise control trying to keep a steady speed with a bigger turbo. It would be too laggy for the cruise to keep up. If i approached a hill it would accelerate and stop, Again and again. That got old. You will need a non cruise throttle cable, At least i did on my 1g. Have fun.

I never use cruise control. I drove for 3k miles across canada and I never used it once. Makes for lazy driving and drivers. Causes inattention.

I will be removing mine from my talon shortly.

Couldn't possibly be the radio cranked up, passengers talking your ear off, kids throwing a fit, cell phones, or any other number of things going on inside the vehicle could it? Nah, must be the cruise control that causes inattention.

I guess you don't get those kind of drivers who pass you and then slow down, and you pass them only to be passed again shortly after because their dumbass can't keep a steady speed.

I use it day in a day out whenever possible on any vehicle I drive, and I have all that I need to reinstall it in my Talon sitting in my garage and it will be installed sometime shortly. Driving back to Texas from NJ after picking up my Talon sucked having to go over 1300 miles with no cruise.

Keep it. The drive to DSM Shootout is much nicer. I know I loved parking mine at 80 and forgetting about it.

I'm gonna have to let you drive my car with the non-cruise cable Tom, you'll love it.

I had actually forgotten how horribly mushy the throttle feels with the CC in place until I got my new car, I hated it and had to ditch it at once.

My cruise control loves to boost abruptly and doesn't really maintain smooth throttle input. Usually causes a lot of annoying bucking.
Don't know how well the 2G cruise control system is.

^^^ That's pretty much exactly how it was on my 2G with a 50-trim. So I quit using it, and eventaully eliminated it to clean up the engine bay. Cruise control seems to work well with smaller frame turbos though.

Same thing happened to me as soon as I put the 16g on my car. It spooled up then suddenly let off the throttle. Very jerky. No cruise control anymore.
