i voted both, because when you do something do it right the first time. If you decide to do just one, i would get the hoses, you get looks and function. The canister is just looks.

I agree with payup. You are getting both looks & functionality with the radiator hoses.

I agree with solo92s10, look at the samco hoses, I think they would look better under the hood than the greddy. I had a matching coolant overflow and catch can in my last dsm and I like how it cleaned up the engine bay.

Just orderd the Samco hoses myself. $81.98 tax/shipped to Florida. Not too bad I dont think. When I get them in and installed, I'll post some pics in my gallery.

I bought a overflow tank from Dejon tool. and a extended length of hose to mount it in the drivers fenderwell. Cleans up underneath the hood, yet still easy to check the amount of fluid. Only downside is that it's a small pain in the butt to fill.

Almost any container will work, provided it has enough capacity (about three pints) and isn't too far away from the level of the radiator cap. Also, the pickup has to be at the bottom of the container so you don't draw air back into the cooling system.

Mine is in the passenger sidewell where the smic used to be, never had a problem with it. Just extendeed the coolant hose a little bit.

i just used one of those jaz recircualting bottles from jegs, like 24 bucks or somthing works great for me and they come in many colors

When I put in my front mount intercooler I just went to the junk yard and picked out an overflow that fit where I wanted it to go. I secured it with some universal mounting bracket that I picked up at Auto Zone. My air filter is where my side mount used to be so it was easy to place the new overflow where the air filter box used to be.

LOL im a true dsmer, I zip tied it in place. Works perfect, and there are holes on the side of the stock overflow thatll make it real tight. Havent had a single problem....oh and for filling it up? Remember, its an OVERFLOW, just slowly fill up your water neck, and the hole on the side will suck up any, so just slowly add more. only takes like 2 minutes to fill up halfway.

I have a question. Do you drive it in the rain/snow/sleet? Any problems with it getting extreamly dirty or soaked in water? I thought you could flood the engine this way.

I use a water bottle with the mounting bracket that came with my old mountain bike. It is mounted where the oem o/f bottle was, using 1 of the screws that was securing the oem filter housing. Only the o/f bottle was replaced, the rest is oem.

Interesting... I've gotta make a new intake route, so I was thinking about either using the old SMIC for the filter (but worried about rain/mud etc)... or mounting the radiator overflow there, and tucking the filter up above where the old IC pipe came out.

Doing the latter looks like I'm not gonna get enough airflow to the intake though.... not sure what to do yet, so any pics/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I put mine where the SMIC used to be, i made some brackets and its been ok so far

I relocated my battery, which frees up both space and bolt holes. I took a bolt from the battery tray, and used the stock mounting bracket for the overflow. Bent it up a little bit, bolted it into one of the old battery tray holes, and slide my stock overflow on. Use all stock lines, and its about even with the radiator cap, little lower maybe. Works great...
