I've been off the board for a COONS AGE! Dawned on me recently that many of you may have some questions, topics etc that need covering. I have always enjoyed the DSMTuners forum, it is one of the only forums remaining that are actually run by car enthusiasts with a passion for power.

I blazed thru a handful of threads the other day and saw a void in the area of solid useful factual answers, in it's place a laundry list of speculation and uncertainty! I havent taken many phone calls on any of the subjects I read, so I figured that the people wanting to know werent calling in, better to go where the questions are and try to help, so here I am :)

I started doing turbos in 1995, been making 4G63 exceed design parameters by 300% for well over a decade now. If you have a question, chances are I have already researched tested and answered it for myself a dozen times over, so if you have a FP turbo related question, please feel free to ask it and I will try to get over here at least once a week and catch up. On the other hand, if you dont want to wait to see what I have to say about a question, feel free to call me, I actually answer the tech support line myself 5 days a week! 972 984 1800

Yeah, I think a lot of people were looking for a compressor map for the FP68HTA. It was in the thread "blouch 20g vs. 68HTA". Maybe you can provide one? :sneaky:

Thanks for the question! And its a good question too, but we will not be releasing a compressor map for the HTA blade aero in any size at this time.

Can you answer ANY of the questions we attempted to ask aniel about the new FP Green? They were avoided and it was kind of annoying.

I just posted in that thread, maybe the post helps clarify a few things. With 4 open phones lines each day and myself personally answering tech questions all day on most days, I can't see that we have been avoiding anyone or anything :)

If we were guilty of anything, perhaps it was being guilty of not recognizing that there was a spirited discussion going on on a internet forum about a part. We all get pretty busy, but it's not that hard to give us a call and speak directly with me on the phone for 15 min or so and ask whatever you like :) Waiting for weeks to get an answer on the internet when you can call and have the guy responsible for creating the parts answer your questions instantaneously is not without flaw itself my brothers in boost ;)

Im really curious to find out If its worth it to get the internally gated version of the Green. I have been reading that some people love it and some hate it. I am going to be running about 20 to 22 psi on it (If I decide to buy it) until I finish my bottom end build and I decide to crank it up a bit. Will it creep at 20 psi? How much boost until the flapper door just blows open? And when in Gods name can I get this turbo with the manifold for 1200 bucks again LOL!!! Im angry I missed that sale

From an outside perspective I can say that it's really cool of you to come offer said calls and such, but i think a lot of people will also recognize your busy and out of respect probably leave you to work and just discuss things on the foru. So it's not a bad thing, that the unanswered topics are spooling around in the dust ( ON the same hand though, i own a small business, and it's hard taking calls and working, you're taking a lot on your shoulders, that shows the kind of business ethics and personable feeling that i like in dealing with a vendor)

What puzzles me and has prompted me to post is this

:What is in a compressor map that could possibly hurt you in anyway by posting?" I would think that portential buyers would be more certain when they're iffy about said turbo if they cuold look at a map and see what kinda air it flows and where it does it at, and to what PSI it's good until... But i doubt anyone could copy the turbo details into a new wheel (clone) off a map alone. The only thing i can think of (and i'm NOT dogging ya, just speaking in theory) is that if the airflow was a letdown in the numbers/flow dept and that you wouldn't want anyone seeing the potential (or lack of) because although it could be dasly low on paper but yet is still a good performer so it's better not to give anythign harmfull to it's sales to the public (but that's just a scenario, not an accusation)

But you could clear that up for me :D And i won't bother ya about it again if you'd just say why you won't release it anytime soon????

(please don't take any of this as me trying to be rude, i'm not, it's just baffling me as to what it could hurt??)

And to me personally, when i WAS looking into my next street turbo,(and i honestly still am) I'd given the 68hta some thought, but based on good stories it's provided, and only steered away from investigating any further because the lack of cold hard data on the flow and because of the things it's proven i consider it too small for my needs based on that lack of "here's-what-it-can-do-data" (and i'm sure any competition worthy of worryiung about could simply buy a couple, have them tested, analyzed and produce a "map" of it's performance, but wouldn't publish it probably because it would seem more like a free service to you )

And i guess the other bad part about this is as a small custom fab car and bike guy, it's a turbo i often mention, but can't fully stand behind to recomend it to anyone because of the same lack of data. I want to be able to provide people asking me for advice with answers based on facts and experience (and the facts would have to lead me to my first experience if ya catch my drift)

thanks !

Unless you wanna toss one my way for testing and then i'll video the install ON MY CAR and beat it and test it for 20k + miles or untill i know how i feel :) That's why i can attest to the oldschool green and red's ya gave us ;) some fell into my lap at one point (although not from you or for free to me but bought for by customers ahead of time)

P.P.S I'm one of the few that still recomends good old garrett t3/t4 hybrids.. I can make em last 100K miles on anything i put them on and i know what they do... my numbers to the left are old but i'm in excess of 400hp daily on a 57 trim that's so beat the impeller blades look like they've got 500K miles of sand errosion on them :D

Let them know Robert. It's not rocket science LOL. Why get info 2nd & 3rd party with inaccurate info when you can get it 1st hand? Or get 1st hand direction to get the answers. I'm no one special but you have always taken time to answer my questions. No matter if it were about a t4 3794r down to the FP beehives. I have mad respect for you. You kept it 100 all the time! You are one great business man and a huge asset to this community.

Well for me being in Afghanistan, all I have is internet access every once in awhile. No phone so what I read on this forum is my knowledge. I must admit though Amber has been helping me through email alot and giving me the answers to the questions I have. Its also a common sense issue, I am in no way bashing anyone, but you cant believe everything you read on here. There are some very knowledgeable people on this forum, but like anywhere else, there are some that base their facts on their opinion. I agree, call first hand and find the information for yourself before you believe what someone else says. Innocent until proven guilty

army94, that's a good point about not having a phone in your spot (and thanks for serving!) And another reason to PELASE let us see a map :D Anyway, i think most who've been around here a while know who to listen to and who not to listen to,a s well as knowing to take opionions with a grain of salt because who isn't proud of "their setup" and what it does.

And by no means am i badmouthing FP, i think they're one hell of a company.. i'm just trying to talk a 68hta map out of them so i can get my "data fix" for the week
