I know this is a weird one, but does anyone happen to know the record for a naturally aspirated 4g63, either in horsepower terms or by quarter mile times? The 1/4 mile database here only has turbo 4g63 or 420A sections, and a friend of mine was curious to see what he needs to run to make something special of his car. ROFL

Hmm thats a good question. I'd imagine a low 15 could be had with intake, exhaust, weight reduction, and good tires. I'd say 14's could be achieved with NO2, but I don't know what the n/t 4g could handle for a shot without blowing up.

Before I slapped a turbo on my dsm it ran a best of 14.8 at 91 mph in a quarter. My car was completely stripped and lightened it weighed around 2400 with me in it. I had a custom exhaust manifold attached to three feet of 2.5 inch exhaust pipe, not cat or muffler. A long ram air intake. Poly motor mounts and a fwd turbo transmission. All emissions removed with no filter. I was going to port the head and remove the balance shaft but turboed it instead. I could beat a completely stock gsx in the quarter.

Dude... at 14.8, you could beat my totally modded GSX in the 1/4. :D

But that timeslip was from four years ago. ;)

My turbo ecu fried, probably because I was running with a bad isc. The 14b is also on its way out, so I have decided to take off my turbo swap parts and do a cheap N/T build. I plan on having a full exhaust, make a new intake manifold, take out the balance shafts, and port the head. It was quick before but now I have better motor mounts and a much stiffer suspension in the rear. With my car being so light weight I may have one of the fastest N/T's on the site with out nos. I am hoping for low 14's.

Eric, if you can't find the et/hp info for the fastest 4g63nt's, you could always try to compete with the current fastest/strongest NT DSM, 4g63 or not. (Bullett) It'd give you something to aim for.

I was really asking for a friend. He bought a non-running 1st gen Talon with a 4g63 n/t. We had a plan for it, but he doesn't have much cash to put into it, and the project called for quite a few expensive parts and work. It may turn into a long-term project for him, especially now since I don't live near Milwaukee anymore to help him on it.
