hey guys its been awhile since ive been on here. well i parked the 1g. got a vdubb for a everyday driver. i had to part alot of stuff out from the laser because of the vw for inspection. well i want to go all out on a NT BUILD. i have a good base now 4g63 6 bolt. well need some good advise before i dig in to far on what to do. i really want to see what this thing is made of. i dont have alot of $ but i will scrap up enough. ill make this in to a buget N\A build i guess but i really want to do this. remember this is not a daily this is goin to be a street\track car

Good to see someone doing a N/T build. When I was N/T my car with very few modifications was pulling low 14's in the quarter, my best was a 14.1. Which is pretty good considering that it probably pulled over a 16. second quarter mile stock. I am now doing a 14b build trying to do it as cheap and close to stock as possible, after this build I might go back and try to set a record for a N/T DSM.

My mods on the N/T were.

3 Inch intake.
Ported TB.
Ported opening of stock intake manifold.
Custom shorty header with 1.5 inch primaries, with no other exhaust behind it.
Solid motor mount.
Coil overs.
Good turbo FWD transmission with a 2600 six puck clutch.
And the car was completely stripped.

I picked up my 92 eclipse n/t manual for $250 with a bad engine. I could have bought a junkyard engine but, I wanted a little more power and a engine that would last a long time. This is what I did for a cheap ethenol gas dd build. 89-90 octane

90 2.0 6 bolt (turbo block with oil jets)
b/s elimination
.20" over stock 9.0.1 comp pistons with new rings (would go to 11.5 if running 91+ octane fuel)
clevite tri-metal bearings
polished crank
block bored .24 over
2g head milled .15 thousands (should give me 9.5.1 comp)
2g intake manifold (ported to 1g tb)
1g turbo camshafts (from manual car) (each cam is different by the way)
1g n/t throttle body (tappered slightly):thumb:
stock cam gear exhaust (made adjustable)

Bolt ons:
4-2-1 SS Header (ebay one):D
test pipe
2.5" cat-back
k&n in stock air box (opened up front of air silencer in fender for ram air seems to work good)
removed silencer in maf

soon to go in:
evo maf sencor (stock maf is rediculous)
eprom computer with custom chip and tune by myself
rc engineering 310cc high impedience injectors
2g turbo fuel pump
stage 3 clutch
fidanza aluminum flywheel
aluminum underdrive crank pulley
light weight 15" wheels for track

Now, with these mods, it really runs strong and gets great mpg with the stock computer. I have not taken it to the track but will this summer for fun as this is just my dd. It is full weight with a/c but should run low 15's in the q/m now and low to mid 14's with the latest stuff. My stock 240cc injectors are at 90% duty cycle so as soon as the latest stuff goes in they will need changed. Also my stock clutch is starting to slip so that will need upgraded. It is good to see some all motor alternative builds to compete with hondas. Cost for everything is $1200 including the car but, not the stuff waiting to go on;)

walbro 255 lph fuel pump sometimes dosent work i have to kick the gas tank then it will work yeah its a brand new pump:shhh:

I think the walbro 255lph is overkill and probably robing you of gas milage, power and overrunning the stock fpr. A stock turbo fuel pump is good for 250 hp. A 190 is good for 325-350hp If you are having problems with the fuel pump most likely it is with installation. Possibly a loose wire conection. If you keep the 255 then at least get a fuel pressure guage and make sure it is at stock press.

The best budjet build would be a
2.4 4g64 short block They have them in 6 bolt or 7 bolt being lightest. (when using a 4g63 head with stock pistons it brings compression to 11.0.1 comp)
4g63 dohc head (2g is good mid range power, 1g will be top end power)
ballance shaft elimination
Also the 4g61 1.8 dohc head has 42cc combustion chamber vrs 48cc on the 4g63 wich can up the compresion another half a point without milling and it is identical to the 1g head otherwise.
matching intake manifold to head
93-94 turbo cams have highest factory lift
I think that would be a recipe for great power n/a on a budjet. Should get 210hp or more depending on the rest of the car. Then later throw some custom cams in and cam gears a tune and all the bolt ons and it is possible to make 250hp.
