Spyder Recommended Replacement Convertible Top

Both the links above are the same but they are correct... that is the top you want to order. As an upholsterer of 45 years plus I would only use EZon or Robbins tops. They are a perfect replacement for the original top. The top will come with timing marks you must line up and that makes it so much easier to install.
Once your top is installed I suggest you give it a coating of 303 Fabric Guard for ultimate protection. Buy yourself a 3-inch paintbrush and pour the fabric guard into a container. Brush it on just like your painting. It will turn the top darker but when it dries the original color will come back. Here is a picture of the top I installed on my 01 Spyder GT... this is after I treated the top with Fabric Guard.

Thanks everyone, I was looking for a budget option and see Topsonline also has the Xtreme brand twillweave vinyl. Any opinions on that?

Again I will say...stick with the EZon or Robbins top. There are cheaper tops out there but you don't want that...believe me you will be very unhappy with what you get.
May I ask why you need to replace your top... If it is not ripped but just leaking a bit... 303 Fabric Guard will make it like new... Trust me... I've been doing this kind of work for years.

The top underneath appears to be rotted. Parts of it are flaky or have really tiny pinholes when shining a light. From the outside, the top looks great but the issue is underneath and it leaks pretty bad in heavy rain. I accidentally left my keys inside and both door handles were broken so I cut a slit through the top to open the door (YES I KNOW VERY DUMB THING). I planned on replacing the top anyways so no worries. Any reason why you dont recommend the vinyl one? Does it just look ugly or fitment issues? My main goal is to have a top that doesn't leak and looks like it belongs on the car.

I’m also looking at replacing the top on my 97 spyder, I looked into EZon and I also looked at RockAuto and they have the color top I want for the same price (black) . Has anyone ordered from them? Can anyone tell me if rockauto has quality tops

I had mine replaced with an EZon, and would highly recommend. The previous owner had an ebay top on the car and it was awful, you definitely get what you pay for as far as the top is concered.

I ordered a black Ez-on from the following link about two years ago. It took me about 10 hours by myself to replace the top, with no experience doing it. Spend the money on a quality top like some of the others have said, and get an electric staple gun, its much harder without one.

As I have stated in my posts... you want an EZon or Robbins top... You will pay for what you get but believe me it is worth spending the money. Tops to stay away from are Key Tops...garbage... Auto Trim Tops...garbage and the one from Rockauto is an Acme ... isn't that the company Willy Coyote gets all his stuff... I have never worked with a top from Acme so I can't say it's good or bad. Rockauto has a very good reputation so I will assume a top from them is genuine ...

I know this is side tracking a bit but if anyone needs a tan ez-on top I have one BNIB. Ordered a tan instead of black on accident, now I have a black one and will sell the tan one if anyone needs. I have been holding it for a local but it doesn't sound like hes ever going to pay me for it.

My gfs Spyder is in the same condition. All we do now is spray on a few coats of Scotchgard Water Shield and it beads off like nothin. Just follow the instructions accordingly. The 303 Fabric Guard is available at Walmart along with the Scotchgard. 303 is pricier but as usual, quality comes at a cost. Choose your quality L O L

Both @streetraceboi and @steve posted products that can be used besides 303 Fabric Guard. I only recommended 303 because it is a product that I have used for countless years in the business. Both Scotchguard and RagTop are a well-known company and their products can be trusted.
