I want to know if this Spyder GST with a 4g64 is worth putting money into? I read i only has 141 HP and i dont see too many parts for it.

Also is the GST suspension different then the GS?
And if i turbo it will it be faster thn the 2.0DOHC?

Sounds about right LOL I would just get some forged internals in the classifieds and a 63 head and go from there. Its a pretty easy swap! Eve better if you have a 98/99 spyder with a black plastic case ecu because they are flashable as well and will work once the fuel pump relay is modified to the ecu.

LOL ok, im curious of how the gear ratios are on those trannys im not a big fan of our trannys ratios while just cruising, shoot if it's that easy i dont see why not later on buying me a 98 99 spyder and swap in the 63 head and just flash the ecu:hellyeah:, off course after getting forged internals

Yeah someone just posted a how to on modifying that ecu. I would buy a non turbo spyder myself just knowing how simple it would be to convert it to a gst. It would be a fun project!

It is worth the money to modd it. My 98 spyder started life as a 2.4 auto when I bought it new off the lot.
All I did to it the first year was put a full stock t-25 set up on the car and 450's, ran it at 12psi it worked great for a year till the auto tranny when out. Then it went on to big things. I swapped the car to a 5 speed,4g63t and awd in 2000. I would have loved to keep the 2.4 in it and swap a 4g63 head on it but back then there was not many if any off the shelf pistons for the 2.4 dohc.

the spyder gs is 97% the same if not more as gst

and in my opinion alot funner 17-19 psi on the 4g64 is 100 times better than 17-19 psi on the 4g63

there will be hardly any money or time lost in a spyder gs compared to buying a gst

o ok, im guessing the 4g64 tranny wont take as much power as the 4g63 does it?

Honestly i have to disagree with this. before i swapped over to the turbo trans i was pushing 17 psi on the stock 4g64 tranny and never broke anything then i swapped to the turbo tranny and broke a cv in a week :|

I just did a blow by compression test and it feels like my exhaust is pushing out of my oil cap. Probally why it is so slow. I seen online about 2 grand to rebuild it and a 4g63T is 1300 shipped.. 4g63T swap here I come.
