Rebuilding 7bolt. Need list of parts.

Hey guys im going to start a rebuild on my 7bolt and I was hoping someone could give me a list of everything I will need to do this. I know the basic parts but I want to make sure I have everything before I start at it. I have a budget of $2500. And im shooting for maybe 300-400hp. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Question would Evo 9 pistons and rods be fine for my setup?

For your goals, you will not need to upgrade the pistons/rods. If you're just doing a standard rebuild, then I would recommend new rod/main bearings, ARP rod bolts, new rings, and a BSEK for the bottom end.

The only thing you really need to upgrade for the top end is getting a set of cams. Of course, a new OEM oil pump, water pump, and timing components are also highly advisable as well.

For the bearings should I get with flange or with thrust? What is the diffrence between the two?

Same here, rings need to be seated under load and if you seat them in the conditions you will be driving you will have a better seal. Hell, there are a lot of engines that are broken in 1/4 mile at a time on the track.

since you have a 98 you should need thrust washers
95-97 have the flanged bearings instead of the thrust washers
