Ive just rebulit mine it isnt hard at all just pay attetion and have a very clean work area. And also a pan of trans fuild to lube stuff up with.

I'm not sure those are much help to a poster that's asking about rebuilding an automatic.

boostcrazyawd, how many miles do you have on your rebuild so far? What sort of special tools did you need? How far into the trans did you go? (What did you do)

I have about 1000 miles on it so far everythings fine except for i think i have a bad shift noid. I didnt really use any special tools even though it says you need them i just made it work. I pretty much just pulled all the clutches i didnt change the bearings in the diff and transfer shafts just cleaned them real well. if your goin to do it get the atsg manual thats a must. By the way i used the rebulid kit from ipt. had everything you will need. I cant say it enough to make sure it is 100% clean.

Good Advice, thanks.

If you were going to do it again were there any tools you wished you had picked up the last time rather than making due?

Including the end clutch?

the one tool i would definelty get is the tool to adjust the kickdown servo that was a real pain with out the tool. Yes the kit does include the end clutches.

is the trans still running good? did you upgrade anything (shift kit, valve body) or just a stock rebuild?
