belt snapped, valves bent, belt had less than 12000 on it. is it worth the time and money to fix this engine or am i better off trying to buy a used lower mileage engine? is there a newer engine than the 4g63t that will go in without much problem?
does anybody know anything about jazzproparts?
anybody now of anyother places like jazzpro?

If you have the money I would do a rebuild. What are your goals for the car and that will also hepl decide what kind of engine you might need.

If you have the $, then do a good rebuild on it with better valve springs/retainers, and possibly new pistons and a Mits. metal headgasket. You could then mod the car w/o having to worry about the motor dying on you.

this is, rather was a daily driver for girl friend and she gets in enough trouble in it now so probably no mods. if i do break down probably just will do something to help intake and exhaust

Out of curiousity; who did your timing belt? Why did it snap? Was the tensioner replaced?

I lookd in your past posts, noticed you had done the Tbelt recently. Curious what happend, what went wrong.

Did you replace the bshaft belt too?

i don't know what went wrong yet. both belts and tensioner were replaced. mechanic that did it is very reputable. i have to have someone do the work, i don't have the time or the place to do it myself, not to mention lack of skills also! mechanic is saying labor wise and time wise it would be quicker and cheaper to find a lower mileage engine as opposed to rebuild. he is also very concerned as to why it snapped. something else internal maybe?know anything about this jazzpro? need to get something going after the holiday want my truck back from g/f!
