Ok I just got a 6bolt 92 tsi awd, with 150k miles, and great compression. what i want to know is would i need to do a rebuild on the bottom end when running a evo 16g with supporting mods or should i be safe without a rebuild?, i was originally planning on just replacing all belts, hoses, fluids, pumps, and plugs, etc before i began modding, but should i be patient and do a complete rebuild (pistons, rods, etc.) then start modding? I know the right thing to do would be to do a complete rebuild, just to be safe, but the answer im looking for from you guys is would i be safe with the stock bottom end when running the 16g? I would do a complete rebuild but, only being able to work part time, money is scarce. If i ever did go with a bigger turbo i would definetly consider a rebuild but at the moment it doesnt sound necassary to me.

Stock bottom end is fine for a 16g. And if it has great compression, don't bother with a rebuild unless you have money to throw into it. I would however do the plugs/wires and redo the timing belt and water pump since who knows when it was done last. Good luck

thanks for the reply, thats what i was planning on doing(water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, timing belt and the other belts, all hoses, plugs, wires, injectors, gaskets, and filters), i just need some replies to get my confidence up so that i could make the decision to not go with a full rebuild.
